I founded Enterprising Projects. I wanted a platform for myself and other talented marketing people to work directly with organisations in an entrepreneurial, creative way.

My career has been in global agencies and large businesses. I have led the development of award-winning strategies and worked across multiple sectors, from healthcare to SaaS software, defence to media networks.

In recent years, I have worked with businesses to lead marketing when they are addressing large-scale transformation. I have helped shape new teams, implemented new marketing technologies, developed new positionings, new brands and fully integrated campaign strategies.

So, what have I learned? I believe many businesses need help building more creative strategies from the inside out.

With so many shiny new technologies, marketing strategies often reflect processes rather than inspirational business ideas centred on delighting customers. Automation, advanced data, low-cost production tools and AI bring enormous benefits. They should be embraced. However, it’s worth asking why, in workforce surveys, almost 70% of employees feel increasingly disengaged from their company's plans.  Furthermore, why do so many businesses run content campaigns that lack differentiation in the same media, often using the same bland imagery?

I believe there is a missing ingredient. Excellent marketing people must not just bring skills in new marketing technologies; they must also bring energy, creativity, and the ability to create cohesive strategies that combine to better engage whole audiences. Brands and outstanding customer experiences remain of incredible importance, and in a world of huge change, I believe they will be of even more importance in the future.
